It's not like we were on a quest for a ring or anything...we were just traveling across the country for a wedding and a visit with dear, dear friends. For us, ten days without our children was like a great adventure.
There was so much to ponder, remember, enjoy, soak in, laugh about, cry about, in short - it was wonderfully fantastic.
The journey begins. At the Knoxville airport sans kiddos - weird.
The Fellowship of the Davises:
if you are not included in the pictures, it was because I was having so much fun I forgot to take one. If you are included in the pictures and the previous comment offends you, get over it - I remembered to take your picture;)

Washington loves and misses me so much, they put my name on a license plate. See? And they know I am smack dab between 40 and 46.
Our journey took us to:
Beautiful Deception Pass
World famous Skagit River (great for fishing or going swimming with your car)
The Wedding (newlyweds)
I had, just HAD to cut some hydrangeas from our house to bring home and dry. I am so happy to report that they survived the trip nicely and look so beautiful in my Tennessee mountain home.
There was one John Paul II rose blooming. You know I had to cut it and go all 1st-grader-bringing-roses-to-May-crowning and wrap it in a wet paper towel, put the stem in a baggie and bring it home. It was on my nightstand for five days. Did I tell you that my dad got me a JPII bush for the yard here? Yeah, he's awesome that way.
And back again...
We were so excited to see the kids when we got home. They were happy to see us to. Well, at least to see what we brought them...all Washington t-shirts. Happy kids.
We can't begin to tell you what a great time we had. So good to see familiar places, but awesome to see familiar faces. We love and miss all of our Washington friends family. If we didn't get to see you this time around, we will see you on the next trip.
